Couldn't agree more. In fact, it's been going downhill for sometime now. It's more annoying then funny now, so I hardly watch it (unless they have a good guest).

It's been going downhill ever since the mid 90s. Every now and then they'll have a good episode (no more than 2 a year, though) like the Peyton Manning one from this year, and the Janet Jackson one from a couple of years ago. Andy Samberg is the only one really worth watching right now, with his digital shorts (Lazy Sunday, Dick in a box, Laser Cats, Peyton Manning & the United Way, the board room meeting, etc.) The biggest mistake was putting Colin Quinn on the show. He must have been blowing the right people, because he also got his own show on Comedy Central which was just terrible. Hellen Keller had a better delivery than he does.

The one unique thing about Saturday Night Live...the show has continually "jumps the shark" all of the time.
The skits may be part of the problem but if they don't have a breakout rising star out of the cast, that doesn't help either.
The original cast from the 70's, early 80's (Eddie Murphy), early 90's (Adam Sandler, Jon Lovitz, Cheri Oteri) and even the early 00's (Wil Ferrell, Chris Kattan, Darrell Hammond) were the peaks. But there was talk before of ending the show because of weak casts such as the one just after the 70's cast left (which included Gilbert Gottfried).
The show constantly reinvents itself with new comedians.....that is what they need. Someone new to breakout with along with a repeating skit that works!

SNL has been on the slow decline for a decade now.All of the strong key actors are gone (dead),or have moved on to film careers.
The scetches/skits are weak.(always trying a lame attempt at the political issues of the day.)It's a dead horse in the water.Somehow the show has managed to'rebound' every 5 yrs. or so.Face it theres talanted comedians and then theres not. Some of the ones that arent ended up on SNL.
The classic years for myself were 76-79..and then again in the early 90's. Meyers,Farley,Miller,Farrell,
It was genuinly funny in the day..but now.....simply lame.

SNL has slowly gotten worse. The Trump/Hillary stuff was funny for awhile but now the Trump/Baldwin stuff is tiresome. Ashame this was once an iconic show the cast now isn't very funny, maybe they need new writers. Time to make some changes Mr. Michaels?

late 70's, easily. it incredibly is once you had Chevy Chase, John Belushi, Gilda Radner, bill Murray... heck yeah, it incredibly is while it replaced into incredibly humorous. Then it kinda stunk for some years, yet between 1999 and 2001 it went up returned, had some great actors/actresses and the writers have been on a roll, mad humorous... and now it incredibly is fizzled out incredibly plenty returned. incredibly unhappy, reason while it incredibly is stable it incredibly is superb, while it incredibly is undesirable, it is so boring, you're questioning, OMG is this a similar coach? What occurred?! ' i admire that great black guy nonetheless who's on it now, I forget approximately his call yet he was on "Keenan and Kel"? i think of he's have been given great skills, he consistently cracks me up no remember what he's doing.
