Monuments and memorials, diverse neighbourhoods, true local taste this is what Washington, DC is; a spot unlike any; the same as this web site hotelbye . Washington it's your house away from home with free museums and America's front yard. Washington is recognized around the world as a symbol of the United States. Here, the place you cannot skip is the Capitol. Capitol is the seat of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The large dome, on the basis of the dome of St. Peter's in Rome, stands apart above all other Washington buildings. Like Washington it self, the building has developed through the years since the main section was developed between 1793 and 1812. The last addition, in 1958-62, enlarged the key façade wherever presidents get the oath. On another part, a marble terrace presents beautiful views within the mall and the city. The interior is resplendent with frescoes, reliefs, and paintings, particularly the rotunda beneath the great cast-iron dome with a threshold painting by Constantino Brumidi and large paintings of scenes from American record on the walls.

Or did you mean the US Capitol building? No, it's a separate physical structure from the White House, but both are located in Washington D.C. The president lives in the White House. The United States Capitol Complex is comprised of the Capitol, the House and Senate Office Buildings, the U.S. Botanic Garden, the Capitol Grounds, the Library of Congress buildings, the Supreme Court Building, the Capitol Power Plant, and various support facilities.

The White House is located at the capital of the U.S. which is Washington DC. They may be the same if the person is talking about where the president's office is, because of the location. But other than that, they are not the same.
You can ask the white house directly if you want, their website is http://www.whitehouse.gov/ask/

No, the White House is the home of the President and hosts meetings of the executive branch (e.g., the Cabinet). The U.S. capital is the city of Washington, D.C. which is where the White House is located. The U.S. Capitol is the location of the U.S. Legislature (i.e., Congress--The House of Representatives and the Senate).

Please DISTINGUISH between CAPITAL and CAPITOL.
CAPITAL is a CITY, for example, the most important city of a region.
CAPITOL is a building that usually houses a state legislature.
The question is VERY misleading!!
FACTS: The WHITE HOUSE is the President´s home (see attached image).
The CAPITOL BUILDING is where the lawmakers meet.
These TWO buildings, The WHITE HOUSE and the CAPITOL BUILDING are in the city of Washington, DC.
Washington, DC is the CAPITAL of the United States.

No they are a mile apart separated by a stretch of Pennsylvania Ave. The capitol is where the House of Representatives and Senate meet to pass bills. It's at Pennsylvania Ave.and Capitol St.. The White House is the official residence of the president. It's at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW.

For one thing, it s not spelled CAPITAL like the Capital of a State!
The PROPER spelling of the US CAPITOL is C-A-P-I-T-O-L.
It is not the White House. It is in Washington D.C.
