Buda Norway in January 91. Sun came up at eleven and went down at three. We were actually up on a bridge photographing the Maelstrom when the Sun touched the horizon and the next bus back to town was at 4:00 PM. I don't know what the temperature was at the Stop, but I haven't been that cold since.

Yes (aproximately 4 hours), twice I have traveled north of the polar circle during winter time. It is beautiful, the colors blue, pink and purple in the sky and on the snow when light comes from a low angle. The northern lights, the starry sky! The only problem is you will be very tired. The best thing to do against it is to wear good arctic clothing and keep skiing!

I did once, on a long plane flight. It rose, I slept and read for a few hours, I look back and it's setting again! Obviously this is because I was moving with the Earth's rotation. But it was pretty freaky, especially since on the return flight it was sunrise for most of the journey.

I've never even HEARD of anything like that happening, unless of course you're in a part of the world like Canada or Alaska where they have 20 hrs or more of night at a time........
