I don't know that Erin needs a nickname. It's already a short name. If you're determined on a nickname why not do one based on a trait, like calling a red-head "Red." Just don't make it insulting like calling a chubby person "Fatso."
Personally, I think Erin is a nice enough name in and of itself and a nickname is unnecessary.

Well my name is Erin, and a boy at school called me E-Rin, which escalated to E-Ron, which turned into Ronnie. So I started high school in a new city and when someone asked me my name I said Ronnie. I like my name, but nicknames are always cool. My brother's name is Robert but he's Robbie.

My name is Erin and the only nick-name I've ever had was Erin-ski. My uncle called me that a lot and my parents would as well when I was a child. It's a Norwegian thing. The bad nick name I did not receive too much was "air head". Other than those there's not much you can do with "Erin." I always wished I could shorten my name (like Liz for Elizabeth). Oh well.
Edit: I forgot my sister called me "Ian" when she was little because she couldn't pronounce Erin. My nephew calls me "Er-on" but he's only 3 (he used to call me "Rah rah".)

I would use a variation of her middle name. I know someone named Erin Michelle and her mom calls her Shelley. There's not really much you can do with Erin. I love it though. It means Ireland.
I love U2, and I'm part Irish. Gotta represent.
do the (RED) thing

Erin is too short to be made into a nickname. Of course, I suppose you could call her "Er" but why on earth would anyone want to do that?
