For procreation of the species.....haha!
But I really believe that marriage if for two people who love each other so much they cant stand being apart...it kind of kills them a little when they are. Later on, when kids come, marriage is about two people who still cant stand to be apart, but also cant stand to be without their kids, who they pour all of their love into.....obviuosly I live in fanatsy land.

there are many different reasons but the main purpose of marriage is to produce offspring and or to maintain a blood line.

Marriage (done correctly) takes two people and joins them into one person. We still maintain our individuality, but our spirits unite into one entity, making us dependent on the other for fulfillment.

It's the representation of the marriage of the church and Christ. Without the marriage of the church and Christ, we couldn't go to heaven.

It's to find that one you love, and one that loves you back. It's making a true commitment to stay by each other's sides through whatever, whenever, however. I just wished it stayed that way today.

For me, I like the title of being a 'Wife'. It feels so cheap to call the father of my children my 'boyfriend'. Otherwise, it's just paper.
