Astral Projection, in my opinion, is a very serious (and advanced) art. It requires lots and lots of practice, research, and time and effort, and should not be expected to work the first time (or even the first few times...)
A GREAT source for books on subjects of Astral Projection and metaphysics: Llewellyn Publishing, which has a (free) catalog/magazine that they publish every two months. Check the website:

Astrally of course. Access to your fourth dimensional body is required. You have to be in the Alpha state for that.
