Probably at the top of the gondola site in Christchurch New Zealand. Take the gondola up for 15 minutes and if the place is empty the views are absolutely stunning (Canterbury plains and Akaroa bays) and you can just chill for a little bit :)

Bolivar Island, near Galveston Texas, US in the 1970s. We used to camp there when I was a kid........so private we could see no one else for miles. We watched the sun rise and sunset on the same island.
Then I grew up.
Tranquility and peace are gone forever.

Lord Howe Island, about 100 miles off the coast of Australlia, only 400 people are allowed on it at a time, it is 1/2 mile wide and 7 miles long, only people who are born there are allowed to live there.

Lake Inle, Myanmar (former Burma). I was "lucky" enough that the motor of the canoe failed. Me and the owner of the canoe drifted on the lake taking turns to try and start the motor and scoop the water out - it was raining a lot. At one point, exhausted, we sat under umbrellas slowly drifting on the water with the blue cold mountains in the distance. Time had stopped ;-)
