I've been very busy lately, but it seems I have not seen Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson decry this henious act. These were all young black students with a lot of potential--and because of the brutality of an illegal with a rap sheet a mile long--they're not saying ANYTHING!

Hillary--your answer is ridiculous. First--those two are always at the forefront of ANY nationally televised crime against an African American. We are disucssing THIS crime --not all crimes in NJ and Chicago.
Secondly--why are you so quick to believe race was NOT a factor here? The killer is not WHITE? No-he is however -of a different race than his victims is he not?
Thirdly--Why would they have to? Perhaps to show the families that the lives these bright young African American kids were worth something? Or again do you think that it is only worth dennouncing if it were white men accused of the crime?
Go back to your dorm room and smoke another one.

Chaz--the drug deal gone bad thing is pure speculation. Yes the murdering swine was a known drug dealer--but those kids had clean records--ALL OF THEM! If it were a drug deal why line them up and execute them? They had no idea it was coming or they'd have been running and shot in the back. Think about it--they probably thought they were going to be robbed.

you got it. If it might be construed against their multicultural platform constituency, you wont see these political whores touch it with a ten foot fence. Meanwhile, a few of America's Best & brightest are gone at the hands of someone who came here ILLEGALLY.
I really wish other black americans would take note of this and throw Jesse and Al in the dumpster once and for all.

Your question lacks merit on several levels.
First, Jackson has been speaking out a lot on the crime waves in Newark and Chicago.
Second, lifelong activists like Sharpton and Jackson usually speak out when people are victimized specifically due to their race, and despite the fact that the accused killer in this case was an illegal with priors, there haven't been any reports that this was a racially-motivated crime.
Thirdly, why would they need to? When they do jump out and decry some heinous act, people rant on this site that they need to shut up. Can't please everyone, no matter what you do.
~Edit: I don't know why you're so hostile, I didn't insult you. I am years past the dorm room, honey, and I haven't smoked a thing. But I am a legal professional, and I showed you respect, so I don't appreciate your stank attitude. Obviously you asked this "question" to get a rise out of people, and were successful. Just because the premise of your so-called "question" was false and inflammatory is no reason to blow up at me.
First-- They are most certainly NOT "always at the forefront of ANY nationally televised crime against an African American," only some that they think are racially motivated. And I think that nowadays, they do it so much that it has lost a lot of its meaning when one of them gets on TV to decry something.
Secondly -- I never said I believed "race was NOT a factor here," I said there haven't been any reports that I've seen indicating that it was racially motivated. The race of the perp being different from the race of the victim does not make it a racially motivated crime. And -- your racism aside -- you still haven't shown me that this horrible tragedy had anything to do with race.
Thirdly -- They don't have an obligation to come out and make a speech every time a promising young black life is taken for no reason. Frankly, they wouldn't have the time, because it happens far too often. I personally am of the opinion that the families of those poor kids don't need a talking head on TV "to show that the lives these bright young African American kids were worth something," but that's just me. I think that the two of them have been on TV so much and for every issue that it's become too commonplace, and it almost diminishes the importance of something when they show up to speak about it. Plus, they don't owe you a show. Why turn this tragedy into a circus?
And I don't know where you got this either, but I do NOT "think that it is only worth dennouncing if it were white men accused of the crime." It was a terrible, vicious crime and a tragic loss of life for promising young people, but it's still not racially motivated.

What you have is two hispanics that killed three college students over a drug deal gone bad. Jesse and Rev. Al aren't going to be marching on this one. Newark is about the deadliest city in the country. It's been that way for a long time. They have arrested two men, and actually believe there may be one more.
The news has jumped on this because the shooter, a hispanic male had just been paroled a week or so before for raping a 5 year old girl. On top of that, he is an illegal. What was he doing on the street?

It has to be race related. There's nothing to be gained from exploiting this.
The mainstream press doesn't like these things being highlighted. Three white Duke lacrosse players. Send all available reporters. Three black students being killed by an Illegal. Give it a paragraph.
You're one of the best on YA when it comes to exposing the problems associated with illegal immigration. Many thanks from this southern Arizona resident.

With those two idiots race is only an issue if the suspected offender is white.

I think one thing is it was not a white who killed them but a Hispanic. Also these were top of the cream kids not the Tawanna Brawleys or Duke stripper that they both want to support
