I think many who ask questions about the Federal Deficit are really not educating themselves. I also feel that this is crucial for people to read and understand!

Are you saying that you now feel that you've been educated about the federal deficit because you have read the transcript from a speech made by a member of congress? Really?

Wouldn't stand up to an economics major's critic.

Too many exaggerations, too much hyperbole.

It also assumes, erroneously, that the amount of wealth in the world is a stagnant amount, neither growing or shrinking.

That is false on the face of it.

No, thank you. Read other things like it (read it anyway). I've also read the rebuttals.

You should, as well.

The article you posted is filled with inaccuracies. It opens trying to look like a legitimate record of congress, but I doubt it is.

Their definition of inflation is wrong to start. If we both have $100, I invest mine and get $500 back, and you sit on yours, over time your money becomes worth less because my ability to make $100 has increased.

The federal reserve system's job is to check inflation and recession, and prevent them. Remember the depression? That's what they try and prevent. Only idiots would believe they are an evil organization out to get you.
