And is it legal in India? I'm indian and I live in America so I'm not sure. I just saw something that says its not but I'm really not about to trust some random source.

And regardless of weather it is or not, how many people support it and or don't support it, and why?

i did read all the answers....and guess the legal bit isn't too clear in its implementation in india...

yeah.... i totally support all the different orientations.

having said tht... i can't help but add that ,for those who are intolerant, to the point of expressing it in their actions... tolarence is a virtue... in every religion.

and yeah... for those who think, 'god doesn't'...i would love to know when they made that visit to god?

Dear friend,

Just because they are adults by law . it is not meant that they know all and do as we like.It is not a general licence..

Suppose there is a adult,He wants to takes drugs and addictected to smokinhg and drugs,As parent or elder what is your duty ; to sit silently on the pretext that the person is adult and knows all?Even if he takes a knife cuts his /her vein do you sit silent seeing it?
Every organ in human body is created with a particular purpose and it has some properties.
You can not smell with your ear.,
You can not hear with your nose,
Similarly the other organs too. They have specific design and purpose.
You can not see movies in a transistor radio.
Similrly the genetic organs too were designed.Any unpermitted use will result in some thing not healthy.
People are doing such experiments, in the name of freedom they have, and we are seeing so many new diseaeses without names even,They are being treated syptomatically.

In past we did not have most of the modern diseases.
Please ,wait a minute and think yourself. I think you too will understand. It is natural for an adult to do all sortds of experiments. They should learn immediately the demerits and health hazards and keep away?
Can a man give birth to a child?
Can a woman make another woman conceive?NO.
It is against nature.
If we go far away from nature , we welcome all sorts of difficulties , unhappiness and ill health.
So in all religions the elders thought with their widom and establised the Holy Institytion of marriage between a man and a woman (or a girl)(male and female)
So please think yourself. You will know the answer

I support.

Technically it's illegal in India but the law has never been enforced, and it was actually created by the British Raj. There's a long history of homosexuality in India, you just have to look in the Kama Sutra or at temple carvings or even at the sexual ambiguity of some of the Hindu gods, and hijras are not uncommon there. But generally it's something not discussed or condoned publicly.

I only support people that sit on me.

I believe that people that are not sitting on me have the right to rub whatever they want on whoever they want as long the whoever is OK with the whatever.

In america you can say what you want. Unless it gets you fired from your job. Or it makes some weirdo religious group really angry.

i not only support them but also admir them for standing in front of the world and proudly accepting the fact that they r different.
I know some of them go trough lot of hard times in their childhood so it's really amazing.
I don't think its illegal in india coz they show gays on TV and talk about it openly as well, maybe gay marriages r not allowed as they r in most parts of world.

I dont support lesbians or gays but if that is what they want and they are consenting adults then that is up to them. As long as they dont bother me it is none of my business what they prefer.

I wouldn't say that I attend rallies, or anything of that sort, but I do have dear friends, and some family who are gay/lesbian, and I love them no less,
besides, it is NOT OUR PLACE TO JUDGE ANYONE!!!!
It isn't illegal per say, but it is frowned upon in some places, by some people,,,,usually those who fear the unfamiliar, or homo-phobic,,,,,(the ones who think just cuz you are gay if you talk to them, they are getting hit on, common now),,,,,,
Tolerance is a state of mind,,,,,,it depends on the person, good luck in your search for the answer....
Blessings,
Trin

I support them. It's none of my business how u live ur life. But if it starts affecting me, I might have problems. U know, if u think I'm a lesbian hiding in a straight person's body, I would politely decline, but please do take no for an answer. Then, if i have a kid who is, I won't take too kindly, but i think i'll love my child no matter what.

being lesbian or gay, is an orientation by nature and it is not cultivated. this is the basic point. having been so, they have no alternative to be different. provision for them to be that their sexual activities if conducted without harming others interest, nothing wrong in having peace with them!
