Its not just about being in love- you can have just sex even when you are in love- but lovemaking is not just a quickie for the sake of lust. Lovemaking is beautiful, unhurried, tender and sweet. When you are totally wrapped up in pleasing each other- and it doesn't necessarily have to involve intercourse. My boyfriend and i made beautiful love one evening just tenderly kissing and stroking each other all over. You can tell the difference when you get there!!!

well having sex is a way to let out steam. The people are not interested in the real deal and are often insensitive to each other's feelings. There is nothing behind the relationship but hormones. I don't really think that a relationship that is having sex could ever truly make love. Making love occurs when two people in love come together. This is often said to occur for married couples because these people are with each other not for the sex but because the appreciate the other person. There is respect, love, patience, honesty,etc. Don't let a partner fool you into thinking your making love. If he or she fails to be a loving partner, threatens to break up with you, looks around for others fishes in the sea, use ur noodles and know that that making lov will never happen.
I guess that if something happened between the couple having sex that brought them together in a way where they start to do all the things i said about a couple making love then there can be potential. Pre-marital sex and off and on relationships are likely to never make love. Always keep that in mind

MMmm, ? I dont think it is to do with how long you have know your partner for, as you can still have sex if you have been together for a long time, making love is in my opinion is more tender and thoughful, whereas sex can be passionate and fiery, spontaneous. Theres no time line just a different attitude of mind or mood.

Having sex is different, often on one night stands etc. making love is the joining of two people who really care deeply for one another.

"having sex" will become "making love" when people fall really in love with a person and decide to pass their life and their close moments together forever, otherwise it is "having sex" when to perfect unkowns pass the night together and stay in the same house without feel any feelings for each other.

When you come to accept the person as your life partner. When all of their qualities are dear to you...both good and bad. When you feel that person becoming a part of your own intimate relationship with yourself. When you give all that you where, all that you are and all that you will be to them.
It is a feeling of being something more then yourself whenever you are with them.
Its emotional and spiritual and satisfying and comforting. You will know it when you feel it.

When sexuality its part of the relation, which means that love, feelings, talking, sharing life experiences, having a family and many other things are important in the relation...
When you have sex you only care in doing it but when you make love its diferent whrn you are in love you can see the bigggg diference!
