If i scan files with an anti virus and an anti spyware program, is there really any chance my macbook gets screwed up while downloading from limewire?

There's always a chance, but it's not very likely. Most viruses and spyware target PCs, not Macs.

Hey. I have a Mac, too. A lot of people tell me limewire gives viruses, but, hey free music. Therefore, I avoid using limewire, by using another application. It is called Wiretap Pro. It is free. It only works on Macs. Basically, the application simple records anything coming out of your speakers. Think about it. A ton of sites give you a free listen, but a virus in a free download. Using Wiretap, you get nice clean mp3 files. Not bad, hmm?

Even though you may catch a virus, it cannot do anything to the Mac OS. The virus would be mute and inactive.

I love the false sense of security mac users have towards viruses.
