At the stores they have a baby toothpaste without sugar or fluoride and a little brush thing to put on your finger. I think it is from Gerber. I think babies dont really need toothpaste but as long as it doesnt have fluoride it should be fine..

You can use toothpaste, but just a pea sized amount. I would look in maybe the baby isle at the store and see if they make it for babies. If not then you could use the stuff for little kids. But if they swallow more than a pea sized amount, it's not good and then you would have to call poison control. This is what I have read.

I didn't start using toothpaste until my kids got most of their teeth. Generally, even a good wipe-down works well for infants.
When you do start using toothpaste, get the special kind of babies and toddlers (called training toothpaste). They dont' understand they are supposed to spit toothpaste out, so it's important to get one that is safe for them to swallow.

fluoride is poisonous, so letting a baby ingest it isn't good. use baking soda or the toothpaste made for babies. don't put the baby down to sleep with a bottle. that will cause cavities before the teeth even erupt and can cause ear infections.

Use a toothpaste without flouride, as flouride can harm a baby when swallowed. Oral-B makes one that is fruit flavored that my son loves, and it has the Baby Einsteins characters on the tube.

They have baby toothpaste in the baby isle and the toothbrush isle and you can start them at 4 months old.
