I think Oprah sucks, and I can't stand how mothers judge each other over the issue of staying at home or going out to work because it's not a simple choice, so many different factors come into play.
I say do what works best for you and your family and be willing to reconsider as circumstances change.

Both ways are good. I have found that stay at home Moms have a lot of insight on world conditions, but at the same time Moms that work outside the home have insights that go beyond that of stay at home Moms, yet both are true to what they believe. So, truthfully I see no difference. Both are respectable to those that live those lifestyles. In my opinion.

I think it depends on the family situation. If a mom needs to work as well as the dad to support the family then so be it. My mom worked when I was little but we still spent a lot of time together. She is my best friend and I wouldn't change anything about the way I was raised.

Well Im a working mom, but I work part-time. My thing is that I miss my son when Im at work but I also need my grown-up time. So If you can stay home thats good for you but it will be a time that we will be crying for some grown-up time lol. Its all on how you raise and take care of your children.

Working mothers and stay at home mom's are both equal, unfortunately for the stay at home there is no salary. In to days world, unless you are very rich or your husband (if you have one) is very rich, in order to get the things you want or most times just to live, you have to go outside the home and help make a living.

Working mom's are just as good as stay at home mom's. They just aren't as available to their childrens needs.
My mom stayed home. I stayed home. My daughters-in-law work and stay home. They want to stay home with the kids, but the family needs the money.

I think it all depends on what the family's situation is. If the mother can afford to stay home while the husband works, fine. And even in that case, some women choose to get a part-time job anyway to avoid boredom. But if you can't afford it, then you just can't. And these days, we all know that a second income is pretty much a necessity. But in any case, no one should judge the woman in whatever she chooses to do.

It's an argument that's been around since women started working. I say to each his own. My mom stayed home, too, but I don't have a choice. The bottom line is: ALL mothers work, and work their butts off.
