im not sure in which country it originates...but...horses were given as gifts in this country...and the way to tell how good the horse was you looked at it's teeth...so by looking a gift horse in the mouth your kind of direspecting the person who gave it to you...so therefore never look a gift horse in the mouth...something like that.x.
