I was substituting a fellow teacher's class the other day. Innocent nine year olds right? Well I learn after recess... from one of the other boys of this one kid's conversation.

He told the other boy, wouldn't it be great if we had a jacuzzi at school cause then i could get in with mrs *me* and we could then *****dont want to get suspended from Y!A again*****

I didn't know nine year olds could talk like this? Am I supposed to blow this off since it was a snitch or should I talk to the kid's parents?

Even if you think the reporter is lying the parents should hear the story. As a mom I would do one of two things...be all over my son for having the conversation with the likes of brimstome only heII has seen...or be all over my son warning him to watch the snitch for what he is.

Of course you know I will be having a conversation now with both of my boys...I am the kind of parent that puts out other kids and their doings for lessons to my own.

Tell them...parenting is best done when the teachers and the parents are together on subjects such as this.

Talk to the parents. But if the kids talk that way, maybe the parents do too... Brace yourself, you might not fall on the "parents of the year". No worries though, the greatest majority are good parents and they will appreciate the phone call.

Talk to the Parents. Start the conversation with "It might just be a rumor from an other child" and end with "I thought you should know to deal with it as you see fit."

My daughter's 9. Think I'll go bang my head against a tree, lest I harm someone else's child.
