Depends on how you plead and what the circumstances of the offence were. There is the possibility of a jail sentence if you play your cards wrong - you will need a good solicitor. You will have to plead debt, stress, poverty; say that your actions were entirely out of character, and think of factor which made you act in the way you did. Courts are sometimes impressed if you take some actions to address you behaviour, i.e attend courses you help with your decision making skills, financial problems etc. Also try to make some arrangements to start paying the money back - the courts like that kind of thing. It's ether that or get you Vaseline out and prepare for a long stretch.

You don't give us much to go on. Is the case being heard in the magistrates' court or the Crown Court? (I suspect the latter.) Was it a one-off act or did you set up a system for stealing? Have you made any attempt to save up to pay it back? Were you of previous good character? The court will give you credit for a guilty plea and will be concerned that you stole from your employer, i.e. when you were in a position of trust, and that a large sum was involved, which somehow or other will have to be repaid. At a guess, a community order (prison can't be ruled out, but the sentence could be suspended) with a compensation order.

It depends if you have been in trouble with the law before or not.A first offence they might not be so hard on you and you will have to pay your boss back and maybe do a little time or community service. It depends also on how lenient the judge will be.Showing remorse would be in your best interest with the judge.

Well, if they find your question here, and they can tie the Yahoo ID to you, you've just confessed to the crime. I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope.

I don't know. It depends what your motive was. If you were desperate and can prove it, they may be compassionate. Admit to what you did is my advice if you haven't already, and take the punishment.
