I've tried the stem, it does not work so well. The stems tend to rot. The leaves are what you need to root. Like, before, just put them in soil and mist them with water to keep them moist until they root.

Those things grow so easily that when a leaf falls off they will stats roots right from the leave itself. I have broken off branches before also and let it dry for a while and then just planted it. Has worked for me. You might want to apply some Root Tone to it to help it along.

Just did this one a couple of months back. Dipped into gel rooting hormone, placed several into plantpot with new, regular potting soil. They are doing wonderfully and are ready to transplant out on their own now. Also tried a few single leaves just to see what they would do... placed them around the edge of the pot (least resistance). Three of them have survived and are just starting to branch out.
