can't connect to the internet and the ethernet controller, pci device, pci simple communications controller, sm bus controller, and video controller (vga compatible) are all saying the driver needs to be installed. where can i get these drivers besides the internet?

You can't step down from Vista to XP. You can format and re-install XP from the start, but you will need to have the drivers available for the devices found by XP. XP has a great driver cab for the items out there, but just in case, you may want to make sure that you have access to the drivers (or to the internet on another machine, where you can go and search for and download proper drivers.)

If this is not posible, the only way to get the drivers may be to contact the Manufacturer - although, I"m pretty sure they are going to say "Go to our website..." Perhaps a local library hs a free connection where you can download the needed drivers?

You MUST put your RESTORE DISC in NOW! DON'T DELAY! You CAN'T, under any circumstance, switch
