Independent conservative radio talk show host Michael Savage is under fire by the fascists in San Fransicko.

He made comments about illegal immigration that were taken out of context.

And now, a supervisor from the city is contemplating whether to sure Savage or not. He also wants him removed from radio.

The reason why I'm asking all political parties to defend him is because this is for the good of the country. (U.S.A.) By defending Savage, you're defending freedom of speech and the Constitution.

Savage is just the bait.

So come on, what do you say?

If you say no, you're going along with the fascists.

Be an American.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Chi guy and the rest of the Liberals ONLY want freedom of speech when it is THEIR speech that needs protecting or a flag they want to see burned!
The very nerve hiding behind his military service and especially his Federal Civil service. He must have been one of those fired air traffic controllers. Hooray for Reagan!

Tsk tsk , just look at this . Liberals want to analyze what he said first so they can apply their twisted logic and deny you your request . Very , very telling . Then you've got the group of folks who didn't understand the question . And then the smattering of folks who's entire existence is dependent on liberal rage and revenge for past notions of inequality .
I will stand by Savage even though I disagree with him and his tactics sometimes .

What an eye-opener . I actually was stupid enough to believe that surely the 'Free Speech Tolerant Liberals' would support a free speech issue . Mind-Boggling to say the least .

I've sent the city an email and agree with you. They're trying to take away his right to free speech and anyone who doesn't defend that right because they don't like or agree with the guy is WRONG. I would defend the right of Air America and it's commentators to be on the air.

Sorry, but you clearly have a very poor understanding of freedom of speech and the Constitution. If Savage is fired, it will eventually be a choice made by his employer, a private company. They will make the decision based on business realities. Michael Savage has the right to make any sort of hateful comments he wants, the government is not taking that away from him or anyone. But he needs to be aware that there can be repercussions for making those comments. The government will not penalize him, but he may still face penalties from other areas. Be an American, OK?

Imus just nailed down $20 Million in an out of court settlement.

Let them out him and increase his value! (Not like I like thinking that way...)

I support freedom of speech and dislike how people get treated, but then again dingbats trying to remove people as they are - are making themselves look (like I said) dingbats.

50% of SF is nutty!! Not a day passes without some bizarre decision, complaints, etc. They do it for attention-so I ignore them-they are laughable. In order to be a supervisor in SF you have to be certifiable. Where does Imus fit into this?? He was fired.

Please post a link that transcribes the show.

Im all about free speech but I need to know Im not supporting a racist before I start sending out emails.

***EDIT****

Ive done enough reading now to know that I will not be supporting any campaign that supports Savage.
If he believes that peaceful protests should be quashed with violence and anti-war activists should be arrested, then he doesnt need my support.

If he himself doesnt believe in free speech, how can you defend his right to free speech. I would suggest contacting the ACLU, they'll defend him. (bwaahahhahahahha!)

The whole "he's gay" - "Im NOT GAY" thing brought a smile to my face as well. Its always the ones who protest the loudest isnt it?

Savage will still have freedom of speech if he is fired and taken off the radio. He will still have ALL of his American rights.

He just won't get paid for it anymore.

You have no idea whatsoever what it really means to be American. Oh wait, apparently you do - you seem to have this sense of entitlement to anything and everything you want like most Americans do. Nonetheless, you're wrong. The Constitution doesn't say that you have the right to say whatever you want and have someone pay you for it. It says you can say what you want. I'm sure that pathetic scum (see, I'm utilizing my 1st Amendment rights there) Michael Savage will still have plenty to say if he gets fired. Don't worry, the secret police won't come and cart him away or send him to Guantanamo.

Without knowing what he said I cannot say if it was in violation of the freedom of speech. Let me explain it to you in the form of an excellent quote (don't remember who said it)

"Your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins."

In other words, you have a right to say what you want as long as it is not derogatory towards others. You are also not protected from lying about what a person said or did. My guess, he did one of these two things (like Imus) but I cannot really say without hearing what it is you are referring to. Besides, no government law prevents someone from getting fired because they did something stupid.
