Yes, it exists, first off. It's when a person seems to feed off another's "aura," making that person feel weak, but I believe that it's explained that the "vampire" is depressed and a drain on the person because of their craving for social acceptance/happiness, etc.

It's when people around you drain your energy for their use, simple enough. Most people who do it are clueless about it. I know some people like that. They sometimes do it subconsciously, and sometimes it's the result of them being dependent on you for something. If you notice it happening, you can simply make the decision to deny them your energy. It isn't even necessary to tell them that they are doing it at all.

Others do it purposefully and can seriously drain a person's vitality. They can often do it with nothing more than their will. It's sometimes tricky to protect yourself against that, but numerous methods exist. They are all preventative -- the psychic vampire can steal your energy very quickly, too quickly for you to notice or react. There are numerous ways to restore your energy afterwards, but anything relaxing or restful can help you decrease the energy that your body uses so that it can restore its aura. Sleep is also advisable.

I personally hate the thought of psychic vampirism. It's about as selfish as you can get. It's one thing to take someone's money, but stealing energy (though it is more easily replaced) is like taking a chunk of flesh out of someone, it's that personal. Of course, unlike the chunk of flesh you can get more energy, but psychic vampirism is extremely invasive. Not to mention that in the long term it comes back to harm the vampire; stealing energy without the intent to repay it in some form never has good results. Ever.

Psychic Vampires do exist. They are not just people who make you feel down. Those are just people. Psi-Vamps are people who for one reason or another are unable to produce or create their own energy. As humans go through their day, they use energy for all the things they do. Most people re-energize when they sleep or rest (or slowly re-produce energy continuously), but Psy-Vamps do not re-energize unless they take energy from someone else. Most of these people do not even know they are Psy-Vamps... If you are not a Psy-Vamp, then don't worry about it. You, unlike these poor blokes, can regain what you've lost without harm. They can't.

As a side note, I have heard that Psy-Vamps can be "cured" by learning Reiki, as Reiki is a healing system that teaches the body to be able to access, draw and use the natural life energy all around us.

You didn't ask a question and you misspelled psychic. I assume you want to know what psychic vampirism is? It is a person that drains your energy when you are around them. A lot of people do it without even realizing it.
