To serve and love God and other humans.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Life in itself has no meaning, because it is not immortal. Maybe the only meaning to life is in an afterlife or becoming immortal. So when we see that increasingly bright light at the time of our death and know that our neurons are starting to pop dead, we will have no choice but to accept it. Or, we could continue to believe in a fantasy, but it won't be long before the last neuron pops and total darkness envelops us.

We shed billions and billions of copies of our DNA throughout our lives. So no matter where we are buried or how many copies deteriorate, we can be sure that our worm will be found, and we will be resurrected from the dead. Maybe we can find the meaning of life in the Bible, if we read it again on our own for the first time, without all the confusing religious doctrines.

This is a question that no life form on our planet or any other planet that we know of can answer. It is a question that has puzzled and bemused all scientists that have worked on the theory of " What is the meaning of life. " for centuries. I believe their is no meaning, we evolved to this earth as sea mammals, which evolved into reptiles like lizards, then dinosaurs, primates, cavemen, and now us humans. Their will be many more evolutions and we are already now a very advanced race. Who knows what kind of evolving will happen in the next century. Climate changes are possible which means to survive we will have to adapt to our surroundings whatever they may be, the meaning of life still has not been discovered and in my opinion never will. I hope this helps.

You have to decide that for yourself. The meaning is transcended from your beliefs, values and life experiences. Because we are human we are conscious and aware of our own mortality. This awareness also causes us to search for meaning in this situation, life, that we are thrown into. Often times the meaning of our own lives changes as we traverse time. This is expected as our beliefs, values and life experiences change and grow. Here's a gem of advice: don't look for the meaning of life, just live your life. One day you'll be content with your life and if I asked you the meaning of life you will know what the meaning of your life is if a general way.

The meaning of life is to live life. Experiance every emotion, every joke. Treasure every moment, memory, and day that you live and love. There are some moments in life when you go downhill, but you know you will always be able to climb back up again, so dont waste your life away.

Why do you have children? Why do you date? Only because you have a chance too. That chance is life. You should live it with all you can. Go back to school to get a degree. Or try to find work you enjoy. That is why your living and breathing. To do all you can. You do things pious or political its your choice. That's what life is.

Depends on the meaning you, I, or they give it
The meaning universe gives life, is the the meaning all matter has.
For example a flower blosms just to fade and die.
Grass becomes green just to brown and wither.
A ball bounces, just to stop bouncing.

The Taxonomy of LifeLife is a condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects, i.e. non-life, and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally. A physical characteristic of life is that it feeds on negative entropy.[1][2] In more detail, according to physicists such as John Bernal, Erwin Schrodinger, Wigner, and John Avery, life is a member of the class of phenomena which are open or continuous systems able to decrease their internal entropy at the expense of substances or free energy taken in from the environment and subsequently rejected in a degraded form (see: entropy and life).[3][4]

A diverse array of living organisms can be found in the biosphere on Earth. Properties common to these organisms—plants, animals, fungi, protists, archaea and bacteria—are a carbon- and water-based cellular form with complex organization and heritable genetic information. They undergo metabolism, possess a capacity to grow, respond to stimuli, reproduce and, through natural selection, adapt to their environment in successive generations.

An entity with the above properties is considered to be a living organism, that is an organism that is alive hence can be called a life form. However, not every definition of life considers all of these properties to be essential. For example, the capacity for descent with modification is often taken as the only essential property of life. This definition notably includes viruses, which do not qualify under narrower definitions as they are acellular and do not metabolise. Broader definitions of life may also include theoretical non-carbon-based life and other alternative biology. Some forms of artificial life, however, especially wet alife, might alternatively be classified as real life.
