Yes he is. He is a typical Hollywood Liberal. No different than "Hanoi Jane" during Viet Nam. If he wants to be friendly with world dictators like Hugo Chavez, then he can go and live with them. Spicoli needs to bolt Ridgemont High and become a resident of Venezuela.

Yep , to put it mildly . And a few other unpleasant things ..but his obvious opinion of himself is more inflated that mere puppet status . He seems to leave a bad taste wherever he lurks to .
Penn and the rest of the so-called hollywood elites who are now "used to be's" , are trying to inflate themselves by deflating America.. I join the thousands who stopped going to the box office to pay to see America's traitors . And incidentally , I couldn't be paid to watch them now for free . When it makes your stomach turn it stops being entertainment anymore .

As far as I'm concerned he lost all my re speck, rubbing shoulders with a man like Chavez that hates us, Chavez even agreed that Penn agreed with him about the U.S.
Penns safety net, he lives in the U.S. the land of freedom, he's lucky, any other country and he end up in jail as a spy. Maybe?

He's a man who doesn't share your opinions, apparently.
He has a public persona and he chooses to use it instead of getting all goofballed in celebrity nonsense.
He has courage; he has been to many of the world's trouble spots and walked unprotected in all of them.
I respect him.

Why can't it just be that he has his own thoughts and opinions? If someone disagrees with you, that does not make them stupid or mindless.
