Sounds like the old "Format Change" no doubt brought about by audience research or a new program director or consultant convincing management they were doing it all wrong.
Why? Who knows (see above).
What can you do. Basically nothing. they've done it, made up their minds. You can write, email, phone. if enough of you do that, maybe, just maybe they'll switch back - if the ratings don't go up with the new format.
But be prepared for a long wait. New Yorkers waited over 2 years for a great, legendary radio station, WCBS, to be returned to oldies from "Jack" (whatever that is). But back they went when Jack turned out to be Junk.

At least you have that...we had crappy KISS too and now we have NOTHING, they just left the air with no warning, and now we have no stations that play that type of music!
