slope intercept form is y= mx + b

2x + 3y = 12
3y = -2x + 12
y = -2/3x + 4

3x - 2y = -6
-2y = -3x -6
y = 3/2x + 3

The equation needs to be solved for "Y" to be in slope intercept form, your equation is solved for "X"

The equations coefficient of X would have to be 2 and the constant would have to be -3 when solved for "Y" leaving.
y = 2x - 3 as the answer.

1)2x + 3y = 12 is an equation in slope intercept form.
3y = -2x +12
y= -2x/3 + 4

2)Put this equation in slope intercept form:
3x - 2y = -6
2y = 3x+6
y = 3x/2 + 3

3)Explain why the following equation is not in slope intercept form: x = ¾y - ¼ This equation shows x as a function of y instead of ya as a function of x.

4)Which of the following equations has a slope of 2 and a y intercept of -3?
y=2x-3

slope-intercept form is : Y = mX + b
where m = slope and b=y intercept.
The first equation is in standard form, not slope-intercept form.

re-arrange 2X + 3Y = 12 to 3Y = -2x + 12 or y = -2/3X + 4.
Now its in slope-intercept form. slope = -2/3. Y intercept = 4

1) y= -2x/3 +4
m= -2/3
c=4

2) y=1.5x+3
m=1.5
c=3

3) because an equation in the slope intercept form is in the form of y=mx+c, where m is the gradient and c is the y intercept.

4)y=2x-3

Slope-intercept form is described as:

y=mx+b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. For the two equations you listed, if you solve for y, you have the slope-intercept form.

y = -2/3 x + 4

y = 2/3 x + 3

the form is y = mx + b, you are backwards.
