mideast countries (Iraq, Iran, Afganistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, etc.) were all located just south of the border where Mexico is? Would this change our views on the war? Would this change our views on national security? Would this change our views on immigration?

The first answer says alot- everyone should read the book WHILE EUROPE SLEPT. They allowed middle eastern people to legally invade their countries and now they are realizing their mistake. Trouble surrounds them- as it will the US if we do not enforce the immigration laws and maintain a tough position on extremists of any type. It does not matter what their ethnic origin is =if they mean us harm and are violent there must be swift and decisive action.

No, actually. They should have been obliterated when we started this war. If they lived south of the border we would say the same thing. We only play nice b/c the world has become politically correct. If we did the right thing in the beginning, we wouldn't have an issue right now.

I would rather have Persians than Mexicans. Persians value education, they are not rude and obnoxious, they don't smell like urine and feces, they don't start violent gangs, they don't spray graffiti everywhere, they don't ruin neighborhoods in the course of a couple of years, they don't have huge litters of obnoxious brat kids...Do you need me to go on?

We have invaded Mexico several times during the course of that country's history, so in that sense, I don't see much difference.

It would make me want to use deadly force on illegal immigrants. But I would still support the war.
