Why the change of heart? Not interested in supporting the judicial system? Your solution is very transparent, and that is precisely why they have such nice charges as perjury and contempt of court.

That is lying under oath and that has jail time attached to it. Bill Clinton did it, and Scooter Libby did it and they both got caught and got in big trouble. So if you do it then yes you will get in trouble.

If you feel your life would be in danger by testifying then you can talk to the lawyer on the side you are testifying for. Ask them about the 5th amendment and what your rights are if you feel like your are in danger.

If its because you just don't want too then to bad suck it up and do it and tell the truth.

Though issue. You could try but the court can force you to testify. If court officials feel your not being forthcoming you can be charged with obstruction. If they can prove you're lying you'll be charged with perjury. I don't envy your position at all. Good luck.

perjury is a crime. perjury is when you tell a lie in court. The best choice is always tell the truth. Especially if someone else can prove your telling a lie!!!
