Usually you share a shower with one other room. And, ther is a very few dishwashers. You probably won't have one in your dorm, probably not even on your floor. But, it depends on the college.

It depends on which school you go to and which building you live in. At my school we have everything from traditional dorms to apartments. We don't have dishwashers in any of them. Usually you do have to share a shower no matter where you live. You can usually find out what the living arrangements are by going to the school's website. Usually they have a page on residence life and housing.
