what types of degrees are offered (business, IT,etc)

Houston International University is not a University per-se, that is just their name. They offer adult education: GED, English as a Second Language, and Citizenship. They are part of the Houston READ Commission http://www.houread.org and the Houston Literacy Consortium http://www.houstonlc.org - They JUST moved offices into the ChinaTown area so they info you have on them may be outdated - check with them before heading out. It's an online University. I don't think you want an online school.
