I have to order them online due to....car trouble. I normally wear a 10 in Vans but I haven't found any I like. On the other hand I have found some nice DCs but I need to know if I should stick with a 10 or go a size up or down. Do they run small? Big?

No not necessarily, I've worn Vans, DC Shoes, and Etnies they all seem to have slightly different fits. If you could I would go try out a pair of DC shoes to be sure but if not then I think they only fluctuate by maybe a half size so go for 10 or 10 1/2 just in case.

They run the same. PUMA makes skate shoes up to at least size 17 DC, Supra and Vans go to a 15 Old school (80s) basketball shoes work good for skate shoes.

I find that Vans tend to shrink up a bit (especially the canvas ones, and especially if they get wet or you wash them) over time. DCs are more stiff, but they won't change the fit over time.

Because of the stiffness, they may feel like they run a little small when you put them on. But, I have found that the stated size is just about right and they don't change over time.

i find that vans actually seem to run small on me. but that is men's sizes, whereas dc seems to run pretty much on the mark with what you wear when you measure your feet/get fitted for shoes

DC's are bigger and thicker than vans. So they might feel a bit bigger
