Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani vowed Tuesday to stop the flow of illegal immigrants into the United States.

Did he forget something? An Italian American is an American of Italian descent. The phrase may refer to someone born in the United States of Italian heritage or to someone who has immigrated to the United States from Italy.

Isn't it funny that "The Great American Melting Pot" now is dead set against illegal immigration. Pretty ironic considering our ancestors basically stole the land from the people already here. Is that "legal" immigration?

But working on legalizing immigrants should be a better subject of politics

Okay, but you left out an important part of it....

I, too, am of Italian descent. But my great-grandparents came legally, through Ellis Island, and then went through the process of naturalization to become U.S. citizens. They weren't illegal aliens.

So yes, a person can be descended from immigrants, but still be against illegal immigration.

I know what would make you change your mind about illegals- if all the illegals would join the republican party and vote gainst socialism, you and every other lefty would be screaming to enforce our laws.

Just like, if technology could pre-determine sexual orientation, gays would be the most anti-abortion people, there ever was...

Sending illegals back is enforcing the law; there is a huge difference between legal and illegal immigration.

What difference does it make if they are legal?

His comment was concerning Illegal immigrants. What interest me more is the fact that he said he'd do it but didn't explain how he would go about doing it.

Typical of most comments made by politicians. Tell us what our problems are and that you are going to fix them but don't tell us how your going to do it. Then once you get in the hot seat you find out there's really nothing you are going to be allowed to do.

Let us focus on the correct word in your statement... ILLEGAL. As in not here legally. As in came her undocumented. As in could be a terrorist. Come on people! This isn't 1492! People can just wonder into America anymore! This is 2007, year of nuclear, biological, and terror ridden countries! We can't just let people waltz into our country anymore without knowing who's here. Grow up already!

There are very few illegal Italian immigrants, let's face it, 99.9% of all illegals are Mexican.

And like most who love to call illegal aliens "undocumented workers"...you failed to focus on whether his family entered the country according to our immigration laws that were on the books. That's the issue. Immigrants are welcome here, but they need to follow the laws.
