Im not gay and when people call me gay i dont have a problem with it. the way i see it thats like someone walking up to me and saying "your black" when im white. so why are people offended when they get called gay???

"Gay" has been used as a negative adjective for many years now. When someone or something is "gay" it usually means it is stupid or inane. It has been used in that way since different sexual lifestyles have become more known, and people have a desperate need to be seen as heterosexual.

I really am not sure.. but it has to have to do with a lack of self awareness I would think.. It's obvious if someone is black or white.. and easy to look in a mirror and say such.. it's not easy to look into a mirror and say, I'm gay or straight... it requires inflection... something many people haven't given enough time to....

I am not offended by being called gay.
I call myself gay.
I call myself a christian too.

That seems to offend other people but it's between me and the big guy so screw them.

They look down on it, and don't want people to think they are gay, even if they are clearly not.

for the people who are not gay, they take it as a negative thing

the guy with the first answer is correct.....gay in our society means bad or wrong or weak or abnormal....

Which we all know is just plain ignorant.
