i want to line my fence line with arborvities, but in the middle my neighbor has a tree that creates shade, so i'm thinking of arbs on the two sides and a different evergreen in the middle

There sure is! Yews love shade, pines can stand a fair amount as well.

If you want a shade loving evergreen ground cover (not an upright tree) then pachysandra is shade loving, drought- tolerating, and fast spreading.

check out Benjamin Moore's diffused, Willow Creek, Raindance and Gossamer Blue. All could look super with the carpet and white trim. save the partitions easy, impartial and unassuming. it is going to look super!

hemlocks are supposed to be shade tolerant.
