I think originally he wanted to go to Liverpool as he's friendly with their Spanish players and is always socialising with them, but if you now say he's off to Lyon it's probably because he knows Alex is going to cause him grief and will try to stop him going to Liverpool , and it's reached the point of no return any where but Man u will suit him at the minute.

Heinze won't be seeing much playing time with the aquisitions Man Utd made for their defense...
and we don't have to use being a yank as an excuse anymore with the internet around, stay up to date with the BBC...

Well it seems that Evra is taking his place. And really if you want develop more you dont stay in England. But in Heinze's case maybe the lure of more playing time is more of the reason. I still think he is better than evra and I rank him as one of the three best left backs right now

Alex Ferguson is a very successful manager, but does tend to fall out with players every now and again, Jaap Stam and David Beckham are 2 examples that spring to mind.

Patrice Evra appears to have taken his place as first-choice left-back, meaning Heinze has to settle as sub.
He's also had disagreements in the past with Fergie about his National side commitments.
If a player wants to leave, you may as well let them go and save the dressing room atmosphere, just not to a title rival, and especially not them blooming scousers.
