Haribo you don't say what brand of racquet you are using but when I switched to Volkl I found my normal 4 1/2 awkward for my hand and was getting pain similar to what you are experiencing. I removed the pallets and replaced them with 4 3/8 ones from the tenniswarehouse and then regripped. It feels fine now. Because of the extreme rectangular shape of Volkl butts my hand having, used Wilson mostly (square), wasn't used to it.

Assuming that you didn't severely damage a tendon, ligament, or bone, you could be suffering from "carpal tunnel syndrome", which usually has a tingling, "choked-off" feeling, which, in essence, is exactly what's happening (check it out on your favorite search engine). If you cannot make a tight fist, consult a doctor, immediately.
On the other hand (no pun intended), you could simply be holding the grip incorrectly, causing undue stress on your fingers, hand, and wrist. Speak with a tennis pro at your local club or store; most will be more than happy to give free advice.

no, shouldn't be that serious since you just started playing. its probably your muscles just trying to adjust the various movements involved with playing tennis. sometimes it could take a while for the muscles to adjust because the movements are completely different than what they're used to. however, if this pain continues after a while you should have it looked at before it gets serious. also, it could be that your grip is not the right size for you. you want to check if you are using the proper grip size. check with a tennis pro to make sure you are using the appropriate grip size.

It could be your hand adjusting to playing a new sport like tennis. Or, it could be the size of your racquet grip, improper gripping technique, or swing flaw.
Take a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory to keep the pain at bay. However, if the pain continues, have a tennis pro (or shop) evaluate your racquet handle size, grip, swing, etc. to make sure that you're not putting yourself on the road to further injury.

no i play tennis its just that u r using muscles that u dont normally use so its no biggy but if it gets serious over the next week or so i would check w/ a doctor u mite have arthritis but if not then u r fine hope i helped
