It's NOT by Buddy Holly. It's ABOUT Buddy Holly.

I think both songs 'that be the day, when I say goodbye, that will be the day that I die' That will be the day and American Pie which was about Buddy Holly had that line in.

Additional - in my mind's ear when I read that line I could here someone warbling 'that will be the day eh eh that I die' that can only be Buddy, in the other I can hear a singer singing 'a good ol' voice singing whiskey and rye and that will be the day that I die...'

VERY OLD BUT VERY FAMOUS... I WRITE IN CAPS BECAUSE HE WAS MY HERO. THAT IS BUDDY HOLLY.

He died in a plane crash with Richie Valens and the big bopper. He had so many hits it is unbeklievable. Among them were...Everyday. and Its the little things you sayy and do that make me want to fall in love with you....Rave on its a crazy feeling.

Richie valens had only been singing for a year but he had three number one hits and it was considered that he would be ten times better than el;vis presslwy if he had survived.

He wrote la bamba Oh Donna And another famous song which I cant think of just now. But he was only 18 years old and he had a lifelong FEAR of flying and the only way he did it was because he was going to be letting Buddy Holly down. Firdty flight and last flight. I loved buddy holly A LOT But tjer was more than one legend that died on thaty plane that night.
