Bring back the Fisherman logo?

Should the New York Islanders bring back the Fisherman logo? It has developed a cult following since it was mothballed years ago.

the emblem now has the define of long island on it... how does it no longer signify the island? And the fishsticks jersey replaced into so undesirable... consistent source of leisure for me. yet truthfully... how does THAT signify the island? It replaced right into a whaling community for a protracted time, yet... now, i might say a gucci bag, hair extensions, and pretend tanner signify the island greater wisely. EDIT: I agree that the colour scheme replaced into greater ideal on the fisherman logo than it somewhat is on the present logo... i think of the emblem desires artwork although. i've got by no ability been partial to the LI define logo, the two. in step with risk draw some innovations and digital mail it to the isles? heh. thinking how plenty ridicule it introduced although... i do no longer assume the fisherman logo lower back. Now... 4 stripes on the sleeve... cool or pompous? :)

I lied the fancy uniforms. In fact,. I like teams that do things like that. IT shows a unique side to the team. I hate it when all the teams uniforms look like they're all cut from the exact same template with the only difference being the color and the logo.


I do like the fisherman logo, but I think the original looks better. bring back the wave pattern though.

Personally, being from MA, the fisherman makes me think of my years playing metro hockey. The Middlesex Islanders had the fisherman logo on their jerseys, so I think of playing up in Saugus at HockeyTown whenever I see those jerseys. I wouldn't mind seeing the Islanders go back to them, but I like the traditional NY Islanders logo that they have used since their inaugural season in 1970.

I don't really care for it, but it was better than the following year when they used their current logo with the same jerseys. The current logo with the navy blue jerseys looks better.

As far as the jersey designs being too complex, that doesn't matter to me. For example, the old lightning rain jerseys were cool.

Maybe it's not a fashion show, but if you're a good team and look good doing it, what's wrong with that? Plus fans don't just wear the jerseys to the games. Sometimes fans want a jersey that looks good that they like wearing other places.

My view from Philly is if the Islanders were a very recent expansion franchise, the fisherman gig would have been fine, but I have always liked their original uniform and logo. Maybe it could be worn for a handful of games.

yes. i like it a lot better. so what if it's not as flashy. it's old school! the only thing is that it kinda reminds me of that guy on the yellow fishsticks box.... but the logo one was much tougher looking. they should change back, or at least wear them once in awhile like some teams do and wear old or special uniforms.

I've got one, but they might straighten out the stripes on the borders. The Isles were a dynasty with the old colors, I think they should keep them.

I think it would be best for them to bring back the old Logo's (NOT the old jersey's) and match them up with the Current jersey design's.

That would look the best in my opinion.
