or with guns outlawed for everyone?

( remember just making a law against guns does not make them majically dissapear, outlaws will continue to have them. If they are bold enough to rob and murder, why would owning an illegal gun be any matter to them. Only law abiding citizens will turn them in.)

To Dr JohnD:

Sir, how can you tell someone isn't going to run over a dozen people with a truck? Should we out law all trucks?

What would you do if a whacko burst into your home at 2:am? Call a cop? Good luck.

As I said while you are dialing 911, the crook can do as he wants. To you, your wife, your kids. I love my family too much to allow a politician tell me I can't defend myself. When I dial 911 it is to report a dead bast@rd on my floor.

I think you'd be safer with law abiding citizens, because think about it, if guns where outlawed then only the outlaws would have them.If the law abiding citizens cant protect there self, there sort of like fish in a barrel. Not only that guns play a big roll in stopping criminals.Who would stop just if someone said "Stop!" no body...I do think they need to bring the Ol'fashion Eye for a Eye rule back out. I bet that will reduce crime. Also, going back to swords, even though kind of a regression, would be pretty cool.

If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. I personally feel that we should train and make it mandatory for all law abiding citizens to conceal carry firearms. Those convicted of serious crimes shouldn't be allowed to ever possess firearms as they have already broken society's trust in them. Remember, gun control is hitting what you aim at. If you were a criminal, would you ever try to commit a crime if you thought the person you were fixing to commit a crime on was well trained and armed?

OK, kids it's time for the old school to teach you some trick or two! First off let me say I have a felony record so they say I can't own a firearm. Now I've NEVER commited any violent crimes on society. However, the cop that bought me that felony learned firsthand that I don't need them. I hit him in the middle of his forehead with a beer bottle from a distance of about 25yds. and he was on the run in the dark. There are 4 witnesses that were standing right there. I know more about firearms than 99% of your average cop. I have forgotten more about firearns and the safe measures that one should take to insure that you do not add to the statistics. There are far too many irresponsible firearm owners in the world today. If they want to mandate weapons they should mandate courses in safety and responsibility. And it wouldn't hurt to educate them on the legalities of ownership. BTW , I could go to any junkyard and find enough parts to build a weapon of any caliber. If you think the law can stop anyone from arming themselves you're wrong. There's no way we would ever tolerate another Hitler. Americans never have and never will hand over the very freedoms that our ancestors fought and died to protect, for our nation and many others. Firearm ownership is not the answer to any problem. However there are times that it becomes a MUST!!!! For you mentally insufficient fools that yell about the psycho killing someone, why don't you research every killing by firearm since that one, and I'd never deny you the satisfaction of counting that one. You'll find more killings by cops and what you would call a law-abiding citizen with a safe full of weapons. If your gonna say it then you better exxpect someone with a better grasp on reality to pull your "PUNK CARD"! There is a lot of difference between shooting paper targets and looking a man in the eyes and killing him. And if you have killing in mind you have NO BUSINESS carrying a firearm. You better hope you NEVER pull one on someone like me who has been there done that. YOU WILL EAT IT!!!!!!

One of the many reasons why I am glad to be a European and not an American, is the fact that we don't have this obsession with the right to carry guns.

You can quote as many statistical analyses as you like about how crime dropped after guns were legalised in some US city or other, but these analyses are usually horribly flawed and fail to take into account a plethora of other factors.

The fact is, in countries with gun control, there is substantially less gun crime than in countries without.

How do you tell a law abiding citizen from a psycho until after they've shot the town up?

I have no problem with legal gun owners. I do have a problem with outlawing guns. Because when guns are outlawed, only the outlaws will have guns.

And the 2nd Amendment should not be disregarded. The second amendment wants citizens to own guns to protect themselves against intruders and tyrants. When the police can't help you, it's better to own a gun, and the police isn't always there when you need them.

To tell you the truth, I myself don't own a gun. However, if I know my neighbors own guns, I would actually feel safer because I know my neighbors and they are responsible law abiding citizens.

The problem is that 9under existing conditions it is easier for criminals to get a gun that it is for law abiding citizens to get one. One half of all guns used in crimes in New Jersey were bought "legally" in Virginia under their lax gun laws. Remember that the mental patient who killed the students at the University bought two guns "legally"

I need my AR-15. I do not need to explain to any wanna be tyrant why I do. I will let you in on it though. The AR is very useful in training my nephews haw to properly handle a firearm. The low recoil and light weight makes it ideal to teach marksmanship. My daughter is four, she is still afraid of the noise but I am sure that I will be training her on it. I am sure this is one of the reasons the US military went with a similar rifle. I too used the gun during another hurricane. I am certain that the reason I was left alone by looters was the intimidating appearance of the Bushmaster. But the real reason I own the "black rifle" is to defend myself against the people that want to grab them; all for my safety of course. I am not saying Obama, Kerry, Schumer, Feinstein and Reid are the only tyrants in the world but I do love the fact that me and my ugly gun scare them so badly. I have Glocks and tactical shotguns to deal with the criminal elements. I have a variety of rifles for hunting deer, feral hogs, bears, frogs, rabbits and squirrels. The AR-15 is for defense against tyranny.

Yes, we would be safer. You'd have protection in your own home against intruders, murderers, rapists, etc.
Making laws that forbid guns won't take the illegal weapons off the streets either.

I would feel better with guns in the hands of law abiding citizens than with all guns outlawed for everyone, thank you very much.
