~No Sweetheart. If you had started your period, you would have cramps. (Sharp pains in your uterine muscles. Not burning when you pee.)
It does sound like you have a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) though - absolutely! Your Mom either needs to take you to the Doc. (ASAP) so he can get you some antibiotics or go to the grocery store and get some cranberry juice. This is very acidic and will kill the bacteria that is causing the problem! :) Urinary Tract Infection / (UTI) are nothing to ignore!! They CAN cause serious problems if you don't take care of it right away!

There's might be two reasons for this:
1.) You might be starting your period so it's very light right now.
2.) And as for the pain, my sister just had this. Everytime she peed, she felt said it hurt, and she happend to have a bladder infection.
But I'm not a doctor so these are just experiences. I know everyone has said this but.....see a doc! Only they can tell!

Mothers know everything. You may as well tell her now & avoid the "why didn't you tell me" argument later. Plus, you're going to need more pads later on. You have a period once a month you know? Just tell her & get it out of the way. This happens to all girls as some point.

Your symptoms are classic for a urinary tract infection. Other possibilities are interstitial cystitis, bladder or kidney stones, or less likely -- bladder cancer. If this has only been going on for a day or two and if you do not have a fever or a history of kidney disease, you may try cranberry or blueberry extract (available at health food stores) and drink lots of extra fluids (avoiding caffeine and alcohol). If these symptoms have gone on for more than two days, if you also have fever or back pain, or if you have other medical conditions or are pregnant, then you must see a doctor for evaluation

Oh dear... ask your Mom or Dad to take you in to have you seen... because if you having pain "only" when you pee... that doesn't sound normal...
You need to be seen by a Doctor to have that checked.
My sister had that too and found out that she has kidney stones... which can be very painfull. Don't wait on that!!!
Good Luck to you! ~ Peace ~

Shouldn't be terribly "painful" other than cramps-- sounds like it could be something else. You should see a doctor. Usually when you start your period, there is no doubt in your mind-- usually a big mess and embarrassing! You could have an infection or something more serious. You should have it checked!

Pee really has nothing to do with it. And does it hurt like a sting hurt not a crampy hurt? Get off the computer and go to the doctor asap!

If it hurts you may have a urinary tract infection...if you started your period and it hurts, it might be your cramps that hurt...sometimes at the beginning it only bleeds when you pee thats what happened when I first started it...talk to your mom...

It really sounds like a urinary tract infection. Periods aren't supposed to hurt when you pee. Tell your mom/dad, they need to take you to a doctor.
