I'd recommend not really offering her the cookies and cheerios and seeing how it works out. She's got to learn to eat right, and eat right from the beginning.

Hi!
Maybe you should start just way you start with younger babies. Try mixing a lot of breastmilk with a little bit of some soft foods that still taste quite sweet. Try for example mashed banana or carrot puree. Make it almost liquid. Reduce the share of breastmilk once she starts accepting this new taste.

Remember that babies some times have to try a new taste 15 times or so before accepting it.

Being 12 months old, you could try offering her all sorts of finger foods as well. (http://www.easybabylife.com/finger-foods.html)

Good luck!

Brest feeding is the most healthy way to do it ,longer then better.
I was on the breast milk until 2 years old.
Absolutely no cookies of any kind ,baby will ask only for this type of garbage when get used of it and will refused a healthy food.
Apples(mix fresh)carrots ,and chicken soup made of the best chicken you can get (no those cheap one chemistry type)
However this require some work.If you are giving baby food from cans and jars ,try yourself if you could it this junk

my dd has been exculsively breastfed until she was 8 months. even now at 12months old, she usually has 1 jar of pureed baby food a day. the rest is breastmilk. sometimes, she doesn't even finish a jar that day...it'll carry to the next day.

i'm assuming you are talking about those teething cookies. i don't see any harm in those, she's probably using them to soothe her gums (i'm assuming she's teething at a yr)
i don't see any harm in cheerios as long as it's the regular flavor. they're a good first finger food. both in moderation. at 12 months, baby should still get almost all nutrition from mama's milk.

my dd still doesn't like solid things on her tongue...cheerios, peices of fruit or veggies...once she feels it on her tongue, she will make herself gag until she throws up.

I hate to sound harsh, but cookies and cheerios??? for a 1 year old?? There's a multitude of sweet and savoury pre-packaged food on the market suitable for a 1 year old.

take away the cookies! for sure. Hope you are only feeding breast milk from a cup. No other way but to give her no other alternatives...sounds harsh, but she'll eventually give in and eat baby foods.
I started my 4 month old on veggies only, its all she knows. Now that she's 5.5 month every so often I give her sweets like peaches, prunes or pears...even then its mixed with cereal to cut the sweetness. As I can imagine she'll have her daddy's sw.tooth so I don't want her to get to liking them too much.

Um, she's a baby. She can "demand" whatever she wants, but that doesn't mean she gets it.

Don't offer her junk food. PERIOD. It'll be tough, but she'll get over it.
