The Golden Gate Bridge is priceless therefore a price tag is impossible. I know you're looking for a figuative answer but there is none, even by inflating 1937 to 2007 dollars. Its an engineering marval and an American landmark/icon on the scale of The Statue of Liberty. No amount of adjusted dollars could be a big enough price tag.

It would never be put up for sale, the government would not allow a private citizen to own a public highway or bridge. However, the Golden Gate Bridge cost $35 million to construct back in 37'. Adjusting for inflation, that would run you about $490 million today.

actually it is possible for a private company to own a public bridge or roadway. Many times the govt has sold tollways or roads to private companies to manage and considering the financial mess the GG Bridge Transit District is always in I wouldn't rule out it being sold and I remember hearing talks about that before, but I don't think that would happen anytime soon.

Of course there's only one, so there is some collector value there.
But one way to figure it is that the bridge cost $36.1 million to build in 1936. The inflation factor since 1936 (to 2006) is 13.51. So that would be $487 million.
I was trying to Google to see how many cars go over the bridge every day, to see how long it would take you to recoup your investment, but I wasn't able to find that information. 8^<
