Your period comes once a month so it should be coming 12 times are year. The commercial you seen may have been for a birth control pill called Seasonal. This pill does allow women taking it to only have 4 periods a year. Without this pill however, a women she get her period 12 times, unless taking a different contraceptive to limit the number of her periods.
Hope this helps. :-)

No, your period comes about every 21 + days. For you to only have your period 4 times a year you need to take a special birth control pill. That is probably what the commercial you saw was for. Women who are on birth control don't have a "real period". Because birth control stops an egg from leaving the ovaries (if taken correctly), there is no real reason for the lining of your uterus to shed. However, most of the birth control women take makes your body have a "fake period" mainly because doctors thought women would be freaked out if they didn't get it. It is a sort of cleansing process for your body though, so this new pill means that you only have to go through your menstrual cycle 4 times a year, however, it still stops eggs from being released.
Hope that helps!

i dont think u listened to the entire commercial.. it was a commercial for birth control pills, right? well when u use birth control pills, the chemicals/hormones in the pill controls ur menstruation cycle. This specific type of pill can be taken in such a way that you can reduce your periods to just 4 times a year. It is not natural, but the pills enable u to do so. According to those people, having ur periods just 4 times a yr is not a bad thing.. who knows!

No, once every 28 days for normal, menstruating women.
The commercial you seen was for a birth control pill that can make you have ONLY 4 periods a year.
That specific pill only , will do that.
I am assuming you are too young to have your own period, so here is an informative link to help you with the ins & outs of having your period.

That's an ad for a type of birth control that forces your period to come only 4x a year. And that is true. And safe - there is no medical reason for your body to have monthly periods.

No it's about 12 times a year unless you get put on a special birth control. Or even regular birth control....you can skip that last week a few times if you feel like it. But as far as naturally if you are regular it sticks to around 12
