make small talk--like the weather, current new issues, etc--I just keep going from there when I want to talk!!!

ask questions to get to know eachother. what are their likes/dislikes, beliefs, heritage, do they celebrate any traditions, where are they from, what do they do, what are their goals...find out as much as you can by asking questions and answering any they might have.
