I would pray about it and speak with your pastor. We did look into biblical verses about when to be together, and when not to, and verses on contraception and God's will. We prayed that He would give us the children that he wanted us to have and came up with a plan for our family planning that the two of us both felt comfortable with. It ended up that because of different medical issues and the way our pregnancies went that we will probably only have three kids, which is great and we are very happy with that.
I think the most important thing is that if you felt led to do things a certain way, and the two of you can agree on a solution, then don't be afraid that others may think your way to plan your family is wierd or wrong. But most importantly pray and meet with others (pastors, other leaders, other believers who have values you admire) to get their advice. A lot of Christians are going to have widely varying perspectives on this issue for a lot of different reasons. So find the ones you trust the most and speak with them.

I am going no 23 years old and catholic. I do not believe in birth control and don't want to hurt my body with it too. I want a large family and have 4 boys. We make it work. We beleive that god will give us what we can handle and love and god will always provide for us. The only mistake I made was not waiting til marriage to have sex. I regret so much but can't change. Also, We are using the pull out method. That is not harming my body or preventing if god wants us to have a baby. Think about that. Good luck to you and I admire you for asking such a great question. This is a big thing that is argued among so many people!

No, the Bible does not explicitly state that birth control is wrong (but the Bible also doesn't say that child rape or abortion are wrong either). However, the Bible is pretty clear about its attitude toward children... which is that each and every one is a blessing from God. Although it seems like nearly everyone here who considers themselves Christian see nothing wrong with BC, there is a big debate among Christians about this, and before 1930, EVERY major Christian denomination was opposed to BC. There are Christians who think divorce is fine, and Christians who think abortion is fine, too. So, rather than asking around about everyone's opinions, you might want to do some research on the sides of this argument and pray about it for yourself. Other people's mere opinions will not help you - especially since the majority of human beings form opinions based on what is most convenient for themselves.
With that said, I am opposed to birth control, although not to natural family planning, since this uses God's design of our bodies instead of working against it. All other birth control methods thwart God's design for sex and children. You might want to ask yourself (and pray about) why God would not give us the ability to turn our fertility on and off when we wanted, if he had no problem with us trying to do so. But again, don't listen to my opinion - look into the arguments on both sides of the debate and ask God for guidance.
Good luck.

I know Catholics are against birth control of any kind. There also are some hard-core pro-lifers who are against birth control pills because they believe the pills might occasionally work by allowing conception to take place and then preventing the pregnancy from proceeding. It's not that they think that's how it usually works, but that they want to be absolutely sure, just in case. These people usually are Christians of one kind or another.
I am a Christian of lifelong faith. I have to believe the Lord will provide, no matter what; but at the same time, I think it is cruel to the child to *deliberately* *avoid* paying any attention to whether or not it is born or whether I will be able to take care of it.
God knows your heart and knows whether you are using birth control as a convenience, so that you can have fun and be selfish, or using it to take good care of what He has given you (your body and your family).

Gods plan is for people to procreate and populate the world. If you have children, you are following that plan. You also have free will to chose whether or not you want one child or 10 children. If and/or when you have your three children and decide that that is enough, then you can start using condoms or taking birth control. I think you should be fine with this. If you are still having issues, pray and ask God for his guidance.

I am a Christian who goes to church every Sunday, and see no problem with birth control. I think it's responsible to plan when you want children. There is Natuiral Family Planning, but it takes a lot of work, and since your ovulation can be thrown off by a variety of things is not as safe as using birth control pills.

I'm also a christian and very active in the church. In my humble opinion, your pastor is no one to tell you what to do regarding your desicion of having children. The way I see it, I think God gave those scientist the knowledge to come up with an alternative for us, But don't you think God does things for a reason? I totally support bith control and I do agree with you about waiting til your married etc. That's an individual desicion wether u want to wait or not. I don't know everyone has their own opinion. I don't thing God wants you to have an extreem amount of children when you can't support them finatially. I think God wants you to be happy and live you life acording to his word. Once doing so he will bless you infinately and he'll guide you to do the right thing. Plus he gave us free will to do what we wanted right? So why not protect yourself? It's not a sin. Remember God want u to be happy, if only with child, and not me miserable with 10 kids huffing and puffing trying to figure out how u will provide for them.

It's a sin to have children you don't want and cannot afford. It's a sin to rely on public assistance to feed these children. God gave scientists and doctors the knowledge and ability to make and prescribe birth control. I am sure He is more concerned with you taking care of the children you have than producing litters of children who will go hungry. **sigh** why do some christians think that EVERYTHING is god's will. Was it god's will that I got cancer? How about when I got pregnant while I had cancer and had to have an abortion? Was it his will when I buried my 21 year old fiance last september? People, take some responsibility for your own lives. That is why god gave us a brain and the ability to reason.

Think about this. Do you really think God just wants the world to overdo it with procreation until the world is even more overcrowded and miserable?
Or...do you think he'd like us to use the reason he gave us and be more practical about it?
I don't know what the Bible says, but if you don't use birth control of SOME sort, you and your 15 children will suffer.
