It's preseason for everyone & every part of preseason football is going to be sloppy, but what ESPN has done to MNF is a disgrace. I kept telling myself that this was the first game for these 3 announcers together & it would take some time for them to gel and become a good crew, but it's obvious that 2 of those jokers absolutely do not belong in the booth. Jaws is great for pre/postgame analysis & Kornhole works well with Wilbon in the format they have on their show (2 annoying fools arguing with each other is somewhat amusing at times), but neither should be in the MNF booth. ESPN has turned MNF into 3 hours of scripted, annoying, boring noise with football on the screen. But hell, you can't see much football with all the graphics flashing on the screen & that stupid score/time display right in the center/bottom of the screen blocking the view of the WR/CB matchup. You suck Kornhole, stick with pregame Jaws, & go to hell ESPN, you have ruined MNF!

Yes they have ruined Monday Night Football. What I do is put it on mute so I dont have to listen to them. Al Micheals needs to be back on Monday Night Football.

I think you can blame the NFL a little. They won't give Monday night the same flex schedule that they have given the Sunday night game so they are stuck with the dog game to end the week some times. I do agree that ESPN has taken the thunder out of MNF. I would watch it religiously when it was on ABC but now there are times I just tune in for a few series and skip the rest of the game. They need a better booth crew or go to two and dump Kornheiser. NBC has it right with the two man crew, but I can do without Madden.

Yes, it is just godawful now. I remember during one of the games (I think it was the Cowboys/Redskins game) they interviewed Jamie Foxx DURING THE FREAKING GAME!!! The worst part was that they weren't even showing the game, like on split-screen or something, they just had the camera on the guys in the booth. I was so livid, I was speechless. Couldn't they have done that at, oh I don't know, HALFTIME!!! I turned it off and didn't watch it too much more last season after that, unless I had to, which was only one game. I think someone said they did this a few times. The worst part is that I'll watch at least two MNF games this season because the Steelers have a couple.

I didn't watch too much of last night's game, and every time I turned I had the sound off. From what you said, it doesn't sound like much has changed. OMG, this is going to be torture.

That's my 2 for 2.

ESPN hasn't really done all that well with football, period. I don't think its a case of the station ruining MNF, just the football games they broadcast. When they aired Sunday Night Football, Paul Maguire, Joe Theismann and Mike Patrick were terrible. I like Mike Tirico and Jaws (the latter whom I think can be a good analyst, he just needs some work in the booth), but I don't think Kornheiser works well in this environment.

Meanwhile, Sunday Night Football on NBC is by far the best broadcast of the weekend with Al Michaels and John Madden.

I agree to an extent. Think Dennis Miller was worse on MNF than Kornheiser is. But I think it should be just a two player booth, announcer and color commentator who was a former player. Think Jaws will do ok.
I agree that the graphic they have to display the score and time is stupid and should not be on the bottom middle of the screen. Guess they just wanted something different from other networks

they want to go all out because they feel that's what the viewers want. it is unnecessary, at the same time annoying. they think they are so much better than ABC because Monday night football is now on cable. I won't watch it anymore

I could rant on and on, but brother you preached it best. MNF is a debacle and a complete mockery of what used to make monday nights so damned great.

We all want to watch the football... so we are stuck with them. Do what I do... turn down the T.V. and pretend to the wife that you are listening to her. She thinks you are being nice and you do not have to hear KORNHOLE and maybe after the game you get lucky!!
