Okay here is the situation, I just started having morning sickness type symptoms about a week ago (am 8 weeks 2 days). Anyway Saturday and today were really bad. Today I am having trouble holding anything down, even water, even air. Is there something I can take or should I go to the hospital so that I don't get dehydrated?? This is my first pregnancy so I'm not sure if I am over reacting, I just don't want to get dehydrated and wind up with problems later in my pregnancy. Any help or advise??

I actually had nothing in my stomach the first time or the third time. Second time it was ginger ale. I know there isn't anything in my stomach because I haven't had time to eat before I get sick. Crackers haven't been helping either, thank you guys for all of the input though

I've already had two ER visits this pregnancy, I really don't want a third one. Do you think I'd be okay until the 21?? I have a doctors appointment then

I would give your doctor a call. She/he might want to see you to check for dehydration. To help try adding vitamin b6(50mg day and night) but check and make sure this is ok with your doctor. Eat small meals several times a day. My midwife had me eating every 30 min all day for a couple weeks. Every 30min just a few crackers, simple carbs of some sort(bread, crackers, pasta, potatoes).

I am in my first pregnancy also (30 weeks right now) I also started having morning sickness around same time as you and I couldn't keep much down either- sometimes water would stay down, and sometimes it wouldn't-my vitamins made it even worse so I stop taking them and just eat well and baby is doing great. I never got dehydrated though. Nothing helped my morning (all day) sickness. I tried those bands you put on your wrist, ginger ale and crackers, ginger snaps-you name it I tried it and NOTHING worked-I just had to deal with it til it passed- My doctor said as long as I am not feeling dehydrated and not throwing up more than 3-4 times a day it's fine and normal. It sucked of course but I got through it ok- I just started eating smaller portions more often to keep something in my stomach instead of 3 big meals a day. but everyone is different so if you feel to weak and/or dehydrated than I would go to hospital. Some signs of dehydration are:
Dry or sticky mouth
Low or no urine output; concentrated urine appears dark yellow
Not producing tears
Sunken eyes
Hope this info helps-good luck and congrats!!!!!!!

I understand. I had HORRIFIC morning sickness until about 14 weeks. It's like a constant flu-like feeling. I ended up in the hospital because of dehydration. The only thing I can tell you is have your husband, or boyfriend or mom or whoever get you whatever you even think might taste good to you. For me it was anything from McDonald's Fries to Mashed Potatoes from KFC. I took small sips of water from a straw thoughout the day, and kept a plastic cup to spit in. I never found a cure-all, but it will end, I PROMISE. Just do what you can to keep on trucking. Good luck!!

i became so interior an analogous boat!!! I even have hardship using interior the vehicle while i'm no longer pregnant... and now that i'm pregnant, even although i'm interior the 2nd trimester, i can not experience with everyone and nevertheless experience nauseous regardless of if ipersistent :(. attempt a million/2 a time-honored potential unisom with 25mg of b6 half-hour until now a vehicle-experience. If this does not help ask you dr for a prescription of phenegen, its an remarkable drug! yet you are able to'tpersistent on an analogous time as taking it, you would be extraordinarily sleepy, i choose to advise a million/2 of a 25mg pill 40 5 minutes until now a vehicle experience, and take the subsequent dose approximately half-hour earlier than the subsequent scheduled time in case you dr authorized. meaning, if its each and every 6 hours like mine... take it each and every 5.5 hours, and you have not got a lapse the place you're ill that can create a viscous cycle! If this medicine does not artwork for you, the subsequent element to aim is Zofran or the two drugs mixed- in case you dr approves!!!! it rather is regrettably what i had to try this being pregnant to pass everywhere exterior my homestead, a small dose of each and every medicine mixed helped me get to/via/from the food market.... yet i certainly wasn't going out to any eating places and nevertheless at 14 weeks i'm having hardship ingesting a brilliant form of meals!

Always remember, when in doubt, just call your doctor. Especially with your first pregnancy, your doctor is practically expecting you to be calling. Some insurance companies offer "nurse lines" where you can call and ask questions you may have and not want to "bother your doctor with". (But no question should bother any doctor- hey that's their job!! I'm still coming up with questions even in my third pregnancy)

When I had horrible morning sickness, I'd prep the night before with saltines and flat white soda next to my bed. I'd take small bites and tiny sips before my feet even hit the floor. Also, Green Ginger Tea helped me a lot. Good Luck! It gets better!

Hiya... Morning sickness is horrible... I felt sick all day but never was sick so i was lucky there... I think you should call your midwife or call your doctors surgery and let then know what your sickness is like and they will be able to advise you. I wouldn't take anything for it as you don't know if it will be harmful to the baby. Try sipping water instead of taking big mouthfuls . I hope you start feeling better soon and call your carers for advice. If you are in England try calling NHS direct as they are on hand 24 hours a day, i called them while i was pregnant and they really helped me. x

It helps if you are sure to eat (even if it's only a little bit) pretty often, or else your blood sugar level gets low which can cause nausea. Also, ginger ale, giner snaps (anything with ginger) really helps. Try to avoid things that may trigger your nausea, such as smells or getting over heated.

If it's getting really bad you can speak w/ your doctor and they can give you something to help. I've heard a little about this product, so it may be worth a try: http://www.mommysthinkin.com/morning_sickness_magic.htm

I never had any morning sickness. I had nausea, but didn't throw up. I've always heard that dry, saltless crackers works first thing in the morning. Drinking flat or room-temperature soda works too, small sips though. Getting up slowly, taking your time moving until you feel better, stuff like that, could help. Listen to your body, and follow it. If it isn't moving, don't force the issue.

If those don't work, check with your OB-GYN, and tell her/him everything you've mentioned here. Believe me, they've heard everything before, so don't be shy. Good luck and congrats on your baby.

If you can't keep anything down for 24 hrs you should probably call your dr or go to the ER cuz if you get dehydrated you can get even sicker. Warm water always helped for me (sounds gross but it worked) im sure ppl have advised saltines. If not, try those. Gatoraid or Poweraid can help if you can keep those down they will replenish you quicker than water. Good luck and congrats!

If you cant keep anything down you may have hyperemesis, which may need a drip if you get too dehydrated! If you start sicking up very bright green colour vomit, then you know there is nothing left to bring up! Call a dr and perhaps they will admit you! Try those accupressure bands they may help a bit ! good luck!xx
