It seems in this day and age that there are no secrets when it comes to wrestling. People on the internet leak storylines, signings, and spoilers on a daily basis, and have basically ripped down the fourth wall of professional wrestling and killed kayfabe. Amidst all of this excavation of truth, have you ever wondered whose really playing who? I mean, there are two types of fans, marks and smarks, those who watch blindly, faithfully, happily naive and those who dissect and seek answers, use Steamboat v. Flair Iron Man as a standard, and claim everything else pales in comparrision, and never really enjoy wrestling. Shane Douglas once said, "yes, you are a smart mark, but you're still a mark" Do you think that holds any relevance? Do you think that Vince and the Jarretts let us know just enough to keep us interested and thinking we're on the inside? Have you ever wondered who gives out these leaks about storylines, special appearances, and signings? Maybe we're still being played

Maybe we're naive to believe in this day of unlimited knowledge that we know everything there is to know about wrestling. Maybe Vince lets us know what he wants us to know. Maybe unkayfabe angles like Matt Hardy and Edge are really written in a back office in Connecticut. Maybe the kayfabe blinders are still on us fans, but maybe we've given false peripherals. Have you ever thought about this stuff? Discuss

Good answer, BoW. A majority of the result leaks that aren't smackdown or iMpact that you're talking about are some internet goon's lies to make him look like he has a tie to the inside. I seldom wonder if these people are planted.
I'm seriously beginning to wonder, in light of Joey Styles' "shoot" interview (that was sanctioned) if there really is a reality to wrestling that the fan's know about.

I agree, Pat Q, but I don't think Vince would resort to changing a title win because the media leaked it today. It's pretty common knowledge today that prowrestling has predetermined outcomes. In a time where it's pretty easy to tell that John Cena's going to come out of a PPV with a title snugly around his waist, I don't think such drastic measures would be taken to secure the outcome of a match. If that were the case, one would have to wonder why Vince didn't do something about WCW leaking taping results as far back as nine years ago during the monday night wars.
I get the jist of what you're saying, they like to keep us on our toes sometimes, but I still wonder what we're meant to hear and what's meant to be kept umbrella'd and gets out.
