The same thing that is wrong with many young celebrities. They have all the money they want. They have "yes" men and they have no boundries. That is a breeding ground for problems. She seems to be the breadwinner for a totally dysfunctional family and they will probably let her do what she wants as long as the money keeps coming in. It all boils down to money.
Also, other than acting, celebrities don't have to "work" at things and I would think rehab would be hard work and they are not used to the work, the rules, the structure etc and they bolt.
She has teen star syndrome. Most of them seem to have it and it's a shame.

She likes to get high. She also likes rehab becasue iot makes her feel better about herself. So she has conflicting views and feelings about getting high with users, and hanging out with sober people who claim to be better adapted to the world. I know lots of people like that. In most cases this is true. In some cases however, addicts can be more interesting to talk to-- like at parties for instance, when you don't know who the alcoholics are (and stop pretending alcoholics aren't drug addicts); and who sneaked away into the back yard for a toke. Everybody's got some medical problem(s). Vice--whether it be for gambling, drugs, theft, or even sex--is just another one of many. And if you can't make it to work, or do your schoolwork, or you can't improve your relationships, or you turn to stealing to provide the necessary income to feed your addiction, then society says that's wrong. For regimes in the West, Free Will is the supreme law by which the citizens govern themselves. In authortarian regimes however, the reason for prohibition is socio-economic predictiability and ios more tied directly to a cultural of interdependance rather than independance.
Imagine if you will the amount of crime which would arise as a result of outlawing tobacco. It's addictive and lethal qualities are overshadowed by it's relative lack of psychological toxicity and this our society, deeply rooted in tradition, accepted it's use.
Hope that all helps!

Well, this time she got arrested for drunk driving and possession of cocaine. Lindsay has a serious problem, says her PR agents, although Lohan says that the cocaine wasn't hers, it was, -and this is a direct quote from LL's mouth-"the black kid's coke". Miss Linds crashed into a car with an African-American male in it. She is in a Utah rehab center, away, says mother Dina Lohan, "from the pressures she faces here in L.A."

She is not doing what it takes to stay out of rehab. She obviously has a problem with partying, alcohol, and drugs and she has not yet learned that those are the things that will continuously get you in trouble and could seriously harm you.

I guess thats what happens in Hollywood. Your either into weed or into rehab.

When you got that amount of money, fame and such-your life I guess doesn't matter so much.

It's her decision on rehab or not. No amount of her fans/family I guess can change her.

Don't count on the old Lohan coming back anytime, soon.

There are a number of possibilities.

1. She is not too bright.

2. Money and fame have spoiled her.

3. She thinks that she is above it all.

4. She thinks that the publicity will do her career some good.

It seems that theese young stars that were once mousekateers are often like this. Maybe I'm actualy a cynic, but I have to wonder if Disney encourages this kind of behavior. It makes for a lot of free publicity.

It is an addiction to the life style as much as anything else. Unless she makes an effort to live her life a different way and with real friends, she is destined for a life that will crash-and-burn.
