I think the biggest myth is that universal health care would be free to recipients and cost those who do not participate additional tax dollars.

Fact is anytime the Democrats are right about something, like Iraq or the sad state of our medical system
republicans whine and try to call us socialists
while at the same time they enjoy all of the "socialist" type proograms that help people and were created by democrats
overtime
social security
medicare
daycare assistance
to name a few

We don't want a socialist system in America, we just want everyone to be treated equal and have an equal say in the government. We hear all the time that we want the government running our lives WELL WE DON'T

then you get BUSH who has created the largest government in the history of the U S A

I am liberal and I do not want socialism to force capitalism out...I just want policies that protect the common man...it's probably a socialistic idea to protect the workers, but I am one of the workers. I am forced to pay into a health care system now, the cost rises faster every year than the price of gasoline...it's called insurance. And this insurance is run by people making lots and lots of money

Ok people, what about your police department? What about your library? What about the streets that you drive on? What about the streets that you don't drive on, but others do? It's all socialized programs. We're not talking about providing every citizen with plastic surgery and botox. We're talking about saving lives, providing people with necessary medicines.

What's so bad about providing people with healthcare? Would you rather see people continue to die because they can't afford treatment? Or pay a few extra dollars a year to ensure that everyone is taken care of?

It's safe to assume that you all support the war in Iraq since only the far right wing party liners oppose healthcare. How do you feel about our tax dollars going to help and feed people on the OPPOSITE side of the planet? How could you support your money going to no bid contracts to companies like Halliburton yet you oppose the govt. paying for a 12 year old girl with diabetes getting a kidney transplant?

Your beliefs have many holes. Stop following party lines and think for yourself(if you're even capable of rational thought).

Most countries that have universal healthcare are happy with their treatment. This is for the good of the people. What would Jesus do God people? If you're a Christian you better damn well be in favor of this or you're going to hell, right? Isn't that your god preaches? Isn't that what you're supposed to be following? You can't go to church on Sunday and pat yourself on the back for being a great Christians then go online on Monday and tell sick people to screw off and get their own help. Last I checked God doesn't endorse the "me me me" philosophy. Which begs the question......how much of what you people say do you actually believe? I would almost respect you more if you just admitted that you don't care about anyone but yourself instead of all of this "socialized programs", "communism", "wah wah wah", etc. Stop hiding behind your phony Christian/Capitalistism/Family Values front and just admit that your selfish and would rather see people die then know that a few dollars of your taxes get's allocated to helping EVERYONE. At least we could have an honest conversation for a change.

Fact. Liberals want as much government in your lives as they possibly can get...to keep people encumbered and down. Myth...it won't hurt a bit.

Fact: Gun Control means government takes over the power of you defending yourself.

Fact: Universal healthcare means that government forces you to pay, with your taxes, for the healthcare of both yourself and others.

Fact: Public education means that government forces you to pay to send your children to substandard government schools, instead of allowing you to use that same money (via a voucher) to send your child to a superior private school.

Too tired to keep typing, but the list goes on.
