hi guys, sorry I know this isn't a marriage or divorce question but I'm learning to drive and yesterday while driving home I lost control of the dang steering wheel and got into a fender bender with another car. I was in complete shock and this guy (thank goodness) was so nice. I dented his car bad and was crying b/c of the shock and my ego took a big hit b/c it was entirely MY fault. My brother was teaching me. I don't want to be afraid to try again, I really need my license at 31 yrs old with children. Any suggestions on how to "move on" and continue will be VERY appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Hi Hope, I am really proud of you for having the courage to do all of the things you needed to do. You are an inspiration to alot of women who may be facing certain kinds of situations.
They say when you fall off the horse, you get back on. You my dear have what it takes to get back on the horse and ride. You can do anything you set your mind to do. Don't even think about it, it's over, so go get your license girl.

Dont feel bad. Even the best of drivers have gotten into accidents. When i was 16 and getting my license, i felt like Mario Andretto until i got into the accident. My first accident at 16 and i totaled my first car. So you're doing way better than me as far as accidents are concerned.

Only way to move on is to get back on the road. How i learned was driving in big empty parking lots or on roads that dont have high traffic. Mastering the fundamentals are key. Driving is not a race especially for a new driver (had to learn the hard way). Take your time and dont worry about the people who may honk or whatver. The ultimate goal is to get that drivers license and get that feeling of success. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

Get back out there and drive again. Don't wait because then your fear will get worse and you'll never want to try again. Anyone can get in an accident. Try driving in empty parking lots first. You control the car, not the other way around. You can do it! You need to be independent and in control. God bless.

Please don't be discouraged. Sometimes it doesn't matter how cautious you are, accidents happen. Just lock this experience in your "chest of learned lessons" and make a goal to practice more. Don't feel so ashamed or guilty . I know it sucks to damage some ones elses property, but they can get it fixed with insurance!!! Driving isn't always easy, but everyone can master it!!!! You will too. Don't give up.

Try driving in community streets where traffic is practically null. When you have confidence to drive among other cars then choose hours when traffic is low and work your way up until you can try the freeway.
